Ingredients
Scale
1.5 lbs salmon fillets, cut into 4–6 individual portions
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
1–2 tablespoons Sriracha (or chili garlic sauce), to taste
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels, then season lightly with salt and black pepper if desired.
Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, honey, rice vinegar, and minced garlic until the mixture is smooth and well combined. This will be your firecracker glaze.
Step 3: Place the dried salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon about half of the prepared firecracker sauce evenly over the salmon portions, ensuring each piece is generously coated.
Step 4: Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes, or until it is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. For an extra glazed finish, you can baste with a bit more sauce during the last few minutes of baking, or brush with some of the remaining sauce immediately after removing from the oven.
Step 5: Garnish the cooked Firecracker Salmon Rolls with the thinly sliced green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds (optional) before serving. Serve hot, accompanied by steamed rice or your favorite Asian-inspired side dish.
Notes
Keep any yummy leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days; they make a fantastic quick lunch cold or gently reheated.
To enjoy your Firecracker Salmon again, gently reheat it in a preheated oven at 275°F (135°C) for about 10-15 minutes, covered loosely with foil, to keep it moist and flavorful.
Elevate your meal by serving these gorgeous Firecracker Salmon Rolls with a side of fluffy coconut rice and a crisp cucumber salad for a refreshing contrast to the rich, spicy glaze.
For an extra irresistible kick and gorgeous sheen, consider reserving a tablespoon or two of the raw glaze mixture and quickly reduce it in a small saucepan over medium heat while the salmon bakes. Drizzle this concentrated, sticky sauce over the finished salmon for a gourmet touch!
