Indulge in the savory delight of Hot Honey Chicken Biscuits! Flaky, buttery biscuits embrace crispy chicken, drizzled with sweet heat. Follow our simple guide for a mouthwatering experience!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 pound chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 1/2 cup hot honey (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Step 3: Slowly pour in the buttermilk while stirring until the dough just comes together. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times before patting it into a 1-inch thick round. Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a glass.
  4. Step 4: Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown.
  5. Step 5: While the biscuits are baking, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken thighs with salt and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until they are fully cooked and have a nice golden crust. Drizzle hot honey over the cooked chicken.
  6. Step 6: Once the biscuits are done, split them open, place a piece of hot honey chicken inside each biscuit, drizzle more hot honey on top if desired, and serve warm. Enjoy!

Notes

  • To store leftover Hot Honey Chicken Biscuits, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap or place them in an airtight container and keep them in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For reheating, pop the biscuits in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes to restore their flaky texture and warmth.
  • Serve your Hot Honey Chicken Biscuits with a side of pickles or coleslaw to balance the sweet and spicy flavors, adding a refreshing crunch to each bite.
  • A great chef's tip: ensure your butter is very cold for the biscuit dough; this will help create a light and flaky texture when baked.
