Indulge in the flaky layers of Crispy Smoked Turkey & Cheese Puff Pastry Stacks! With creamy cheddar and savory turkey, this delightful treat is perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup smoked turkey, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface until it's about 1/8 inch thick.
  2. Step 2: Cut the puff pastry into rectangles or squares, approximately 3 inches by 3 inches. You should have enough pieces to create multiple stacks.
  3. Step 3: In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped smoked turkey, shredded cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, and Dijon mustard. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Step 4: Place a tablespoon of the turkey and cheese mixture in the center of half of the puff pastry pieces. Top each filled piece with another piece of pastry to create a sandwich.
  5. Step 5: Brush the edges of the pastry sandwiches with beaten egg to seal them. Use a fork to crimp the edges for an extra secure seal. Finally, brush the tops of each stack with remaining egg wash for a golden finish.
  6. Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until they are puffed up and golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before garnishing with fresh chives. Enjoy your crispy smoked turkey & cheese puff pastry stacks!

Notes

  • For optimal freshness, store any leftover crispy smoked turkey and cheese puff pastry stacks in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • When reheating, place the stacks in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes to restore their crispiness rather than using a microwave, which can make them soggy.
  • These savory stacks pair wonderfully with a side salad or a tangy dipping sauce like ranch or honey mustard for added flavor and presentation.
  • For an extra burst of flavor, try adding some chopped jalapeños or diced bell peppers to the turkey and cheese mixture before sealing the pastry stacks!
