Ingredients
Scale
6 large egg yolks
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup milk
1 1/4 cups heavy cream
1 cup mascarpone cheese
1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
1/4 cup coffee fruit juice (optional)
24 ladyfinger cookies
Instructions
Step 1: In a medium saucepan, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until well combined. Add the milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon. Remove from heat and let it cool.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth and well incorporated.
Step 3: Once the egg mixture has cooled completely, gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture until fully blended.
Step 4: In a shallow dish, combine the brewed coffee and coffee flavored syrup. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
Step 5: Arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers in a single layer at the bottom of a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
Step 6: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder for garnish. Enjoy your festive tiramisu!
Notes
For optimal freshness, store your tiramisu in an airtight container in the refrigerator, where it can last for up to 3 days.
There's no need to reheat tiramisu; it's best served chilled straight from the fridge, allowing the flavors to shine at their cool, creamy best.
For a festive touch, serve your tiramisu in individual cups and garnish with chocolate shavings or fresh berries for a delightful presentation.
To enhance the richness of your tiramisu, consider using a mix of coffee and coffee fruit juice when soaking the ladyfingers, adding a unique depth of flavor to every bite.
